This weekend was spent in one of my favourite places – Liverpool. It’s where I went to Uni and will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Here are some of the things that makes Liverpool so special to me…
Scousers – friendly, hilarious and often found wearing pjs and rollers in the street. Love em (especially you Anty Pants!!!!).
Host to loads of vintage shops, delicious food and cool places to hangout – Bold Street kind of has it all.
Liv Food Market – A new addition to Bold Street, Liv sells natural, organic and some plastic free foods.
Vintage – At the age of 19, Liverpool was where I discovered my love of vintage. Resurrection, Cow and Pop Boutique are just some of my favourites on Bold Street.
Utility – There’s two Utility shops on Bold Street, one stocks furniture and the other stocks the best bits and pieces you never thought you wanted but end up buying eg. cards, cactuses, reusable cups, jewellery, pens… If you have time to kill, just browse Utility. Great fun.
To do – FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) – exhibitions, films, workshops. Proper cool space.
Music is at the heart of Liverpool, it’s something you just can’t escape. Home of The Beatles. A pure must is a visit to the legendary Cavern Club and The Beatles Story to see where it all began. There are so many cool bars, pubs and music venues dotted around the city – Kazimier (great venue, cool garden), Shipping Forecast (top food, beer, gigs), Philharmonic (amazing acoustics).
I loved my little trip back to Liverpool this weekend. Every time I go back it changes, but the best bits always remain the same.
If you’ve never been… go!
